Why Jesus Gives Salvation - and  Mohammed's Great Fear

Jesus' disciple Peter said of Jesus, "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.'" (Acts 4:12)

"Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well.'" (Jn 14:6-7a) By the way, though some would like to think that Jesus message was corrupted centuries later, we have an ancient manuscript, called the Bodmer II (p66) papyrii dated 125-175 A.D. It has 829 verses from John's gospel, including John 6:35b-14:26 without any breaks. John was one of the twelve chosen disciples of Jesus.

"Jesus said to her [Martha], 'I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?'" (John 11:25-26) This is preserved both in the Bodmer II papyrii and another manuscript, called the Bodmer 14/15 (p75) papyrii, copied 175-225 A.D.

Mohammed Considered Suicide

When Mohammed first started receiving spiritual communication, he thought of committing suicide! al-Tabari vol.6 p.68-73 says, "I went to Khadijah and said, 'Wrap me up! Wrap me up!' When the terror had left me, he came to me and said, 'Muhammad, you are the Messenger of God.'" He (Muhammad) said: I had been thinking of hurling myself down from a mountain crag, but he appeared to me, as I was thinking about this, and said, 'Muhammad, I am Gabriel and you are the Messenger of God.' Then he said, 'Recite!' I said, 'What shall I recite?' He took me and pressed me three times tightly until I was nearly stifled and was utterly exhausted; then he said: 'Recite in the name of your Lord who created,' and I recited it.... (p.69) Gabriel came to Muhammad and said, 'O Muhammad, recite!' He said, 'I cannot recite.' Gabriel was violent towards him and then said again, 'O Muhammad, recite!' He said, 'I cannot recite,' and Gabriel again was violent towards him.... (p.70) "Then he went to Khadijah and said, 'Khadijah, I think that I have gone mad.' 'No, by God,' she said. 'Your Lord would never do that to you. You have never committed a wicked act.'" There is more on p.71-73. Is this someone who has peace?

Mohammed was Under an Evil Spell

Labid bin el-Asim the Jew put Mohammed under a spell. Ibn-i-Majah vol.5 no.3435 p.60-61

Mohammed was bewitched Sahih Muslim vol.3 book 24 no.5428-5429 p.1192-1193; Sahih Muslim vol.2 book 4 no.1888 p.411. See also Bukhari vol.8 book 73 ch.56 no.89 p.57 and Bukhari vol.8 book 73 ch.59 no.400 p.266

According to Bukhari, Muslims follow an alleged prophet who himself had been under an evil spell. Yet against Israel Numbers 23:23 says that no sorcery or divination would work. Can you receive salvation through an alleged prophet who was under an evil spell?

No Assurance of Salvation

Muslims do not have any assurance that they will escape Hell. Many Muslims believe there are two angels on the shoulders of everyone, one recording good deeds and the other bad. There is one way Mohammed said you could be certain about someone's destiny though. According to the hadiths, if a Muslim commits suicide they go to Hell. Secondly, if a Muslim kills another Muslim, Mohammed said both the killer and the victim go to Hell. There were a few Muslims working in the World Trade Center. Does that mean it was too bad for them? When Shi'ites and Sunnis kill each other, and Sunnis kill other Sunnis, then why would other Muslims support people who their hadiths say are destined for Hell.

There were ten exceptions though; where Mohammed specifically promised them Paradise. Eight of them are listed in Ibn-i-Majah vol.1 book 1 no.133 p.75. Two of them were Talha and Zubair.

However, at the Battle of Jamal (the Camel) 656 A.D. 35 A.H. 'Aisha and two generals, Talha and al-Zubair, and about 30,000 warriors rebelled against 'Ali. 'Ali won, but 10,000 Muslims, including Talha and Zubair were killed. (See al-Tabari vol.17 p.164. and vol.39 p.315.) So if they were promised paradise, yet regardless of whether or not they killed other Muslims, they were killed by other Muslims, does the promise to future traitors supersede their being killed by other Muslims, or the being killed mean they go to Hell?

One should think the latter is more likely, because as the next section shows, Mohammed's promises were not always truthful.

Are You Safe in a Mosque?

Mohammed apparently was the first to order Muslims to burn down a mosque. He did it while Muslims were still in it. Even worse, Mohammed ordered it done after he had promised those people he would pray for them in it! One might think they were fools to trust Mohammed, but here are the details to read to decide for yourself.

"The[n] the Messenger of God proceeded until he halted in Dhu Awan, a town an hour's daytime journey from Medina. The people who had built the Mosque of Dissent (masjid al-dirar) had come to him while he was preparing for Tabuk saying, 'O Messenger of God, we have built a mosque for the sick and needy and for rainy and cold nights, and we would like you to visit us and pray for us in it.' [The Prophet] said that he was on the verge of traveling, and he was preoccupied, or words to that effect, and that when he returned, God willing, he would come to them and pray for them in it. When he stopped in Dhu Awan, news of the mosque came to him, and he summoned Malik bin al-Dukhshum, a brother of the Banu Salim bin 'Awf, and Ma'n bin 'Adi, or his brother 'Asim bin 'Adi, brothers of the Banu al-'Ajlan, and said, 'Go to this mosque whose owners are unjust people and destroy and burn it.' They went out briskly until they came to the Banu Salim bin 'Awf who were Malik bin al-Dukhshum's clan. Malik said to Ma'n, 'Wait for me until I bring fire from my people.'... Then both of them ran until they entered the mosque, its people inside, set fire to it and destroyed it and the people dispersed. Sura 9:107 speaks of this. al-Tabari vol.9 p.61. Footnote 425 on the same page says that Waqidi says the fire was set after the evening prayer.

Now these people considered themselves Muslims, believing in Mohammed's message. But because they built a mosque Mohammed first apparently gave approval of but later changed his mind, Mohammed had the mosque burned down with them still in it. Were they deceived in following their Allah?

The Holy Bible says, "Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother's were righteous. Do not be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you. We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death. Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him." 1 John 3:11-15

Mohammed's Allah : The Great Impersonator

But apart from Mohammed, would Mohammed's Allah ever deceive Muslims? Read the next passage, followed by a Muslim's response.

"...and then only this nation (i.e., Muslims) will remain, including their hypocrites. Allah will come to them in a shape other than they know and will say, 'I am your Lord.' They will say, 'We seek refuge with Allah from you. This is our place; (we will not follow you) till our Lord comes to us, and when our Lord comes to us, we will recognise Him.' Then Allah will come to them in a shape they know and will say, 'I am your Lord.' They will say, (no doubt) You are our Lord,' and they will follow Him." Bukhari vol.8 book 76 ch.52 no.577 p.375. See also Sahih Muslim vol.1 book 1 ch.81 no.349 p.115.

Now one Muslim pointed out to me that the word "deceive" is not present in the quote, Allah did not speak any lying words, and this occurs in Heaven, not on earth. However, it is not required that the word "deceive" be used to deceive people, as when Allah impersonated one who is not Allah. Those who believed Allah's words when Allah chose to be in this false shape go to Hell. We can all agree that this hadith teaches that at a future time Allah will deliberately misrepresent himself to Muslims in a "shape other than they know".

What is Allah's shape? I had not heard a Muslim say, until one Muslim told me Allah probably had a humanoid shape. Here is what Bukhari vol.9 book 93 ch.24 no.532b p.396 tells us. "When there remain only those who used to worship Allah (Alone), both the obedient ones and the mischievous ones, [and they will say] 'and now we are waiting for our Lord.' Then the Almighty will come to them in a shape other than that which they saw the first time, and He will says, 'I am your Lord,' and they will say, 'You are not our Lord.' And none will speak to Him then but the Prophets, and then it will be said to them, 'Do you know any sign by which you can recognize Him?' They will say, 'The Shin,' and so Allah will then uncover His Shin whereupon every believer will prostrate before Him and there will remain those who used to prostrate before Him just for showing off and for gaining good reputation. These people will try to prostrate but their backs will be rigid like one piece of a wood (and they will not be able to prostrate). Then the bridge will be laid across Hell,..."

So, despite what Muslims today might say, Bukhari says that Allah will have a true physical form in Heaven, and Allah himself will also appear to Muslims in a false physical form, as sort of a temptation to them. Don't you agree that the Allah of Mohammed is an impersonator that leads some Muslims to Hell?

In contrast, the Bible says, "When tempted, no one should say, 'God is tempting me.' For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone." James 1:13

Mohammed's Insecurity of His Own Salvation and His Torment of the Grave

Mohammed feared the torment of the grave for himself.

A Jewish woman told Mohammed "May Allah protect you from the torment of the grave." After that, Mohammed prayed for refuge from the torment of the grave. Sunan Nasa'i vol.2 no.1479 p.281-282

"'A'isha reported: The Holy Prophet (may peace be upon him) entered my house when a Jewess was with me and she was saying: Do you know that you would be put to trial in the grave? The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) trembled (on hearing this) and said: It is the Jews only who would be put to trial. 'A'isha said: We passed some nights and then the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Do you know that it has been revealed to me: 'You would be put to trial in the grave'? 'A'isha said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) seeking refuge from the torment of the grave after this." Sahih Muslim vol.1 book 4 no.1212 p.290

Abu Huraira reported: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) seeking refuge from the torment of the grave after this (after the revelation)." Sahih Muslim vol.1 book 4 no.1213 p.290

"She ('Ai'isha) said : Never did I see him (the Holy Prophet) afterwards but seeking refuge from the torment of the grave in prayer." Sahih Muslim vol.1 book 4 no.1214 p.290

"Masruq reported this hadith on the authority of 'A'isha who said: Never did he (the Holy Prophet) say prayer after this in which I did not hear him seeking refuge from the torment of the grave." Sahih Muslim vol.1 book 4 no.1215 p.291

Mohammed sought refuge from the torment of the grave. Sunan Nasa'i vol.2 no.2065 p.535; vol.2 no.2069 p.537; vol.2 no.2071 p.538

Conclusion

For Christians, Jesus' disciple John said, "And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life." (1 John 5:12)

Muslims cannot have any more assurance of escape from the torment of the grave than Mohammed had. Mohammed broke His promise when he burned down that mosque with Muslims still in it, and that calls into question his other promises on afterlife, especially with Talha and Zubair. A Muslim cannot even be sure that Mohammed's Allah will not deceive him with impersonation to send the Muslim to Hell.

Mohammed is dead and buried in Saudi Arabia. Jesus rose from the dead and is alive forever. Choose He who is alive over he who is dead, was under an evil spell, and feared the torment of the grave.
